Senior Maoist leader Susheela Rani surrenders in Nizamabad
A senior Maoist leader, Nakka Susheela Rani, has surrendered to police in Nizamabad, citing health issues and government pressure. She will be rehabilitated under the state's official policy for former insurgents.

A senior leader of the outlawed CPI (Maoist), Nakka Susheela Rani alias Latha, surrendered before Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya on Tuesday citing health issues and what she described as increasing government repression.
Susheela was working as a Divisional Committee Member (DCM) and a member of the Education Department Committee (EDC) of the Maad Divisional Committee in Chhattisgarh.
Presenting her before the media at his office in Nizamabad, Mr. Chaitanya said Susheela, a native of Bodhan in Nizamabad district, had gone underground in February 1992 after marrying Sunkara Rammohan Rao, the then secretary of the Maoist Kangal Dalam, in July 1990.
After obtaining a B.Sc. degree from a college in Hyderabad, she joined the Government B.Ed. College at Nagarjuna Sagar in Nalgonda district, but could not appear for the final examinations.
