Senior faculty in Bharathiar University are apprehensive that in the absence of a proper Vice-Chancellor Committee, the institution’s academic standing among State varsities could face a slide due to what they describe as ‘gaps’ in administration.
BU was awarded the highest A++ Grade by NAAC in the last rating during 2023, for having secured CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 363 on a four-point scale.
“Sustaining the position is fraught with challenges due to stagnation in administration. As the File Tracking and Management System has not been implemented despite the emphasis laid on it by the Higher Education Department, there are instances of files remaining uncleared for seven to eight months,” president of Bharathiar University Teachers’ Association K. Vasanth said.
