Senior Accountant caught red-handed taking ₹30,000 bribe in Anakapalli

Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught N. Vijaya Bhaskar, a Senior Accountant at the Divisional Sub-Treasury Office in Narsipatnam, while accepting the ₹30,000 bribe for doing an official favour in Anakapalli district on Friday.
The accused officer, Mr. Vijaya Bhaskar, demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 to process the pending arrears of the increments bill for the years 2023, 2024 and 2025 of the complainant, P. Srinivasa Rao, a retired Tahsildar. Based on the complainant's request, the accused officer reduced the bribe amount to ₹30,000 and stated that the bill would not be processed if the bribe was not given.
