MANILA, Philippines - Senators are pushing for a truce between warring colleagues to focus on a mounting legislative workload, including the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a weekend interview over dzBB, Blue Ribbon committee chairman Erwin Tulfo confirmed that peace feelers between Senators Panfilo Lacson and Alan Peter Cayetano were discussed during a recent majority bloc caucus.
The Senate Blue Ribbon committee is also considering yielding its investigation into the alleged flood control anomalies in Taguig to the Office of the Ombudsman.
With the Senate currently sitting as an impeachment court for Vice President Sara Duterte, the majority agreed that internal bickering must take a back seat.
