Busia Senator Okiya Omtatah is mourning the death of his sister, Mwalimu Mary Goretti Wamukoya, who passed away on August 21, 2026, after a long illness.
Omtatah described his sister as a woman of strength, kindness and wisdom, saying she remained devoted to her family throughout her life.
“It is with profound sorrow that I mourn the passing of my beloved sister, Mwalimu Mary Goretti Wamukoya, who departed this life on 21st August 2026 after a long illness bravely borne,” Omtatah said.
“She was a woman of strength, kindness, wisdom and unwavering devotion to her family.”
The Senator extended his condolences to the Musita and Okoiti families following the death of Mary, who was born in 1958.
“May God grant the Musita and Okoiti families strength and comfort during this difficult time,” Omtatah said.
