Selangor FC fails to stay FAM sanctions
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected Selangor FC's emergency application to stay sanctions imposed by the Football Association of Malaysia. Consequently, the club must play its upcoming FA Cup match against Sabah behind closed doors due to previous fan misconduct.

PETALING JAYA: Selangor FC’s application to stay the sanctions imposed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), including an order for the club to play behind closed doors due to the rowdy behaviour of its supporters, has been rejected.
In a statement, FAM said the application was rejected by the Court of Arbitration’s emergency sole arbitrator yesterday.
"Following the decision, the sanction against Selangor FC to play without spectators for its 2026/2027 FA Cup match against Sabah on Sept 9 on home ground remains in force," FAM said.
FAM said the full hearing of Selangor FC’s appeal against the sanctions would continue to be heard for a final decision, in accordance with the prescribed arbitration process.
