The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is set to undertake a comprehensive energy audit of its major establishments and civic infrastructure as part of efforts to improve energy efficiency, reduce consumption and work towards carbon neutrality.

The board, which functions under the Ministry of Defence, has invited Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified agencies to conduct the audit and recommend measures for energy conservation, integration of renewable energy and overall optimisation of energy use across the Cantonment.

According to the EOI issued by the SCB on August 4, the exercise will assess existing energy consumption patterns across buildings, utilities and public infrastructure and identify areas where energy is being used inefficiently. The selected agency will also be expected to suggest technological, operational and behavioural interventions to reduce energy consumption.
