A second World of WearableArt performance has been cancelled after the death of a crew member at Wellington’s waterfront stadium.
World of WearableArt (WOW) announced this morning that today’s 2.30pm matinee would not go ahead as the production team makes changes behind the scenes.
Last night’s 7.30pm performance was cancelled in the immediate aftermath of the crew member’s death at TSB Arena yesterday morning.
WOW chief executive Meg Williams said the crew member worked in a “highly specialised area of production” alongside a close-knit team who had been deeply affected by the loss.
“While the result of a medical event – and the production has extensive contingency plans in place – we are dealing with an exceptional set of circumstances.”
Williams said organisers had identified changes that needed to be made behind the scenes so the remainder of the season could continue safely.
