The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team has arrested a second suspect in connection with the murder of EFF member Monica Dube, nearly four months after she was killed at her home in Wallmannsthal, Tshwane.
Dube, 44, was shot and killed in front of her family in June.
Police say the 39-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday evening following an intelligence-driven investigation that allegedly linked him to the murder.
The arrest follows the July arrest of Sipho Lucky Mahlangu, who remains in police custody after making several appearances before the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court.
The EFF in Gauteng welcomed the latest arrest, with Gauteng spokesperson Dumisani Baleni describing it as an important development in the investigation into Dube’s death.
