Second Godavari flood warning in force, releif operation in full swing in Konaseema, Polavaram districts
Authorities in Andhra Pradesh have issued a second flood warning for the Godavari river as water levels rise at the Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage. Relief operations, including the deployment of SDRF and NDRF personnel and the distribution of essential supplies, are underway in the Konaseema and Polavaram districts.

A whopping 14 lakh cusecs of flood water is being let into Bay of Bengal as Godavari flood level touches the second flood warning level at Sir Arthur Cotton Barrage at Dowleswaram in East Godavari district. Barely 8,400 cusecs of flood water is being released into the Godavari delta.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar told The Hindu, “We have intensified relief operations as per the flood protocol for the second flood warning”. Boats and SDRF and NDRF personnel have also been deployed in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District.
In Chintoor agency in Polavaram district, the evacuation operation is in full swing and 118 relief camps are ready to tackle the flood in the Sabari and Godavari rivers.
