SEC has set up special voter registration camps in colleges and house-to-house verification campaign
The Maharashtra State Election Commission has launched special voter registration camps in colleges and initiated house-to-house verification to address concerns regarding electoral roll discrepancies. These measures aim to ensure all eligible voters are included in the upcoming electoral process.

This is a direct administrative response to public and political pressure regarding the integrity of the voter registration process.
Amid protests against the Election Commission of India (ECI) over alleged discrepancies in the SIR process, at the direction of ECI, the State Election Commission (SEC) in Maharashtra has set-up a special voter registration camps in colleges/universities, saying “no eligible elector will be left out of the electoral roll”.
The Voter Registration Officers have set up the camps for disposal of notices / claims and objections and enrolment of all eligible electors .
“To facilitate large-scale registration of young voters, special voter registration camps are being organised in all colleges and universities across Maharashtra from October 5 to 9,” said Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in a statement issued late on Tuesday night.
According to SEC, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been present at these camps to assist students in filling applications and to clarify their queries regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
