Karthikai Rajan, 45, a fisherman from the Pamban Chinnapalam area near Rameswaram, went fishing in a country boat.
On Monday night, while returning towards Pamban after fishing, he accidentally fell off the country boat into the sea in the Gulf of Mannar region and went missing.
Though the fellow fishermen on the boat searched for Karthikai Rajan throughout the night, they could not find him.
