Search for vessel in distress with five people onboard in Channel

A search and rescue operation is underway in the English Channel for a vessel in distress carrying five people. Coastguard helicopters, aircraft, and RNLI lifeboats have been deployed to the area near Eddystone Lighthouse.

A vessel with five people on board is "in distress" in the English Channel, the coastguard has said.
A search and rescue helicopter and boats have been launched to try to help the vessel south west of Eddystone Lighthouse off Plymouth, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said.
