Search for terrorists in J&K's Budgam forest enters second day
Security forces are continuing a two-day anti-terror operation in the dense forests of Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. Authorities have restricted tourist access to the nearby Doodhpathri area as they search for a suspected group of terrorists moving through the Pir Panjal range.

The anti-terror operation deep inside the forest area of Budgam district entered its second day on Friday (September 4, 2026) as security forces searched for the terrorist group reportedly seen in the area, officials said. The anti-terror operation was launched on Thursday (September 3, 2026) following information about the movement of a suspected group of terrorists from Pakherpora in Pulwama district towards Yousmarg in Budgam district, officials said.
As the area of operation falls in the vicinity of Doodhpathri, authorities have asked tourists not to visit the tourist location until further orders, officials said.
