Search for North Carolina woman Liz Waddell is still a missing person case, Grenada police say

Grenadian police said Tuesday that their nearly week-old search for a missing North Carolina woman is still active, with hopes of finding the swimmer alive. Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, a 44-year-old Cary resident, was last seen going out for a swim at Grand Anse Beach on Wednesday, the Royal Grenada Police Force said. “At this time, the matter continues, continues to be treated as a missing person investigation,” acting Commissioner of Police Randy Connaught told reporters Tuesday. “I repeat, at this time, the matter continues to be treated as a missing person.” Surveillance cameras captured Waddell walking on a jetty near the water at 11:36 a.m. the morning she went missing, Connaught said. She went into the water at 11:51 a.m. and more footage captured her swimming under the jetty at 12:04 p.m., the police official said.
