SCR steps up drinking water monitoring across stations, colonies

South Central Railway (SCR) has strengthened its water quality monitoring system across railway stations and residential colonies to ensure the availability of safe drinking water for passengers and railway employees. Most water samples collected and tested between September 9 and 15 were found to be ‘satisfactory’.

It claimed that the enhanced monitoring mechanism includes daily checks of water quality and residual chlorine levels, along with regular bacteriological testing to detect E scherichia coli (E. coli) contamination as per prescribed procedures.
