Several people are feared dead and scores injured after violence broke out during a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) grassroots meeting addressed by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki in Nembure, Embu County, on Saturday, September 12.

Police were forced to deploy tear gas to disperse youths who had stormed the venue, and approximately ten vehicles were torched in the unrest that followed, including one belonging to a journalist identified as Murimi, from Wimwaro in Runyenjes.
