The South Coast Railway (SCoR) zone has intensified its water safety measures ensuring a secure and potable supply of drinking water for passengers, rail users, and residents across its four divisions.
Guided by rigorous safety protocols, the zone’s medical department executed an extensive weekly testing campaign from September 25 to October 1, 2026.
The comprehensive drive spanned railway stations, colonies, hospitals, schools, and administrative offices. Nearly 2,677 residual chlorine samples from 70 railway stations and 226 bacteriological samples from 82 railway stations recorded a 100% fit rate. Out of seven chemical test samples, six were declared fit with one result awaited.
Similarly, safety evaluations across railway colonies and institutional facilities—including 836 chlorine samples, 85 bacteriological parameters, and seven chemical tests—successfully met all prescribed health norms with a flawless pass rate.
