Science and Technology Dept. awards ₹20 lakh grant to St. Aloysius
St. Aloysius University has received a ₹20 lakh grant from the Karnataka government to establish an institutional facility for nano-bio-environmental research. The project focuses on the biotechnological valorization of arecanut waste for the production of safe nano-nutraceuticals.

The Vision Group of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, has recognised the Departments of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Biochemistry and Botany, School of Life Sciences, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and awarded the prestigious VGST K-FIST Level-I grant.
The grant of ₹20 lakh was made towards a proposal titled “Establishment of an Institutional Facility for Nano-Bio-Environmental Research and Training (NBERT-AN): Biotechnological valorisation of Arecanut Waste for Safe Nano-Nutraceuticals” submitted by Remya Varadarajan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Biochemistry, who is also the Principal Investigator and Sana Sheikh, Department of Botany as the Co-Investigator.
