Six students suffered minor injuries when a corporate school bus fell into a canal near Kattubadipalem village in G. Konduru Mandal, NTR District, on Saturday (August 22, 2026).

According to information, 23 students were traveling on the bus, which was proceeding from Ibrahimpatnam to Kavuluru village when the accident occurred, reportedly due to rash and negligent driving.

Villagers, along with the passers-by rescued the children and shifted the injured to the hospital. “The locals and the ‘ayah’ on the bus responded immediately and saved the children,” said Mylavaram Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) P. Ramachandra Rao.

“The children screamed for help when the bus fell into Tarakarama Lift Irrigation canal. A few children suffered injuries in the mishap,” a villager who participated in the rescue operation told The Hindu .
