Students and the driver of a private school bus sustained minor injuries after the bus hit a container trailer near Janappanchatram junction, close to Sholavaram in Tiruvallur district, on Monday.
According to the police, the bus was travelling from Chennai airport to the school in Ponneri. The students were returning from a holiday trip.
The drivers of the bus and the container trailer were reportedly attempting to overtake each other when the vehicles hit sideways near Janappanchatram junction. In the impact, the bus’s front windshield, windows, and metal framework on its right side were damaged.
