Some dreams end before they have the chance to begin. For Elisa Gastellum, mariachi music was more than a pastime. The Arizona teenager had found a place for herself on stage, where performing allowed her personality and love for the music to come through. In 2006, at just 18, Elisa was preparing to move to Las Vegas with her older brother, Javier. The siblings imagined building lives around mariachi, with Javier hoping to teach and Elisa looking toward singing and furthering her education. The plans never came to pass and a car crash in Arizona claimed Elisa's life before she could make the move.
