SC-ST commission chairman holds meeting in Hassan
L. Murthy, chairman of the Karnataka State Commission for SC/ST, has directed district officials in Hassan to expedite the resolution of land grant complaints and address rising atrocity cases. The commission received 182 applications and registered 82 new complaints during his visit.

Karnataka State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes chairman L. Murthy has instructed officers in Hassan district to resolve complaints regarding land grants and other issues filed by people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in the district.
Mr. Murthy, during his visit to Hassan on Wednesday, held a meeting with leaders of various organisations and met district officers separately. Briefing reporters about the meetings, he said more than 280 people had attended his meeting, and 182 applications relating to various issues were received. A majority of the applications concerned delays in granting land to those who had applied several years ago, while a few related to the alleged misuse of funds under the Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan (SCP-TSP).
