SC Commission asks officials to ensure progress of SC and ST communities in A.P.

State SC Commission chairman K.S. Jawahar on Thursday (August 27, 2026) said that the Andhra Pradesh government allocated funds for various welfare and development schemes for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities. He stressed that district level officials must make special efforts to enable their progress across social, political, economic, and educational spheres.
During his visit to SPSR Nellore district along with SC Commission members Sripathi Babu, Mekkala Biksham, and Ramanujanamma, as well as Secretary Chinna Ramudu, he conducted a review meeting at Thikkana Pranganam in Collectorate on Thursday. He received 196 petitions from several Dalits and leaders of SC associations.
