SC adjourns Punjab appeal against HC ruling directing CBI probe into corruption allegations linked to CM office

The Supreme Court on Thursday (October 8, 2026), adjourned the Punjab’s appeal against a High Court order directing CBI investigation into corruption allegations linked to the Chief Minister’s office to Friday (October 9, 2026).
Justice Dipankar Datta said the file has to be studied by puisne judge on the Bench, Justice Sheel Nagu.
Justice Nagu, who was the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court before his appointment to the apex court, said he would go through the case filed once it reaches him.
A day after the Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the CBI to probe corruption allegations linked to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s office, the agency registered a case on Tuesday (October 6, 2026) against an officer on special duty (OSD) in the CM’s office and other public servants.
