SBI Data Centre gets 10 acres in Future City

A series of large data centre investments are positioning the proposed Bharat Future City on the outskirts of Hyderabad, and the latest to enter is the State Bank of India (SBI).

The government has agreed to allot 10 acres in the Bharat Future City area for an SBI data centre. The land is located in Mir Khanpet village of Kandukur mandal in Rangareddy district, according to an official. This is another step towards developing Future City a major hub for artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing infrastructure.

The momentum began with Amazon Web Services (AWS) announcing its data centre investment, followed by projects of TCS HyperVault and CtrlS. The latest proposal from Fortune Hospitality, involving an initial investment of ₹ 60,000 crore, and the proposed allocation of land for a State Bank of India (SBI) data centre have added to the growing cluster.
