Sault-born artist’s giant bra sculpture in top 100 of competition
Artist Miranda Gallagher-Wickett has created a six-foot-tall sculpture of a bra to highlight the complex engineering behind everyday garments. The work is currently a finalist in an international art competition and aims to spark conversations about body image and support.

NEWS RELEASE MIRANDA WICKETT ************************* Sault born artist Miranda Gallagher-Wickett is asking her hometown for a little support - quite literally.
Gallagher-Wickett's six-foot-scale bra sculpture, Suspending Support: The Hidden Architecture of the Bra, has been selected as one of the Top 100 works in Art Comp 2026, an international art competition and exhibition held at 100 Kellogg Lane in London, Ont.
With People's Choice voting closing Sept. 7, Gallagher-Wickett hopes the community she still considers home will help carry the work further.
Northern Ontario has done it before. Last year's first-place People's Choice winner, Rebecca Clou tre, was born and raised in North Bay and credited strong hometown support throughout the voting period.
"I live and work in London now, but I don't think I've ever stopped thinking of the Sault as home," Gallagher-Wickett says.
