There are more than 100 subtypes of sarcoma. 1 In the US, sarcoma accounts for approximately 1% of adult cancers and 15% to 20% of pediatric cancers. 1 Every July, clinicians, researchers, health care institutions, and patient advocacy organizations join forces to educate people about what sarcoma is, the importance of early diagnosis, the availability of effective treatments, and how to best support patients and their families. 2
