SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga — Face-to-face classes on all levels here are suspended on Monday, Aug. 10, due to severe weather, the city government announced Sunday. Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag ordered the suspension following PAGASA’s 11 a.m. heavy rainfall warning on Sunday, which placed Pampanga under a red warning level.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said the effects of the enhanced southwest monsoon or "habagat" may continue through Monday.
Schools may shift to online learning or other alternative delivery modes to ensure continuity of education.
School administrators were asked to consider the situation of learners, particularly those living in flood-prone areas.
The city government reported flooding in several areas, with some roads already impassable to light vehicles.
