‘Samuk’: Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s alien action thriller goes on floors

Akshay Kumar has started shooting for producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah ’s upcoming film, Samuk, the makers announced on Monday (August 24, 2026). The film is directed by Kanishk Varma and brings together an international creature and stunt team to mount the spectacle.
As per a press release, the film has been in development for two years and “combines military realism, survival horror and alien mythology”. It marks Akshay and Vipul’s collaboration after 12 years since they last worked together in the latter’s production, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty.
