The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series will get a new foldable display architecture, Samsung admits, which will improve the phone’s resistance to developing an unsightly crease down the inner display.
An announcement from Samsung details something the company is calling its “Flex Titanium” display panel. It will be used in Samsung’s “next-generation Galaxy foldable devices,” which refer to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra .
Flex Titanium is supposed to offer a better viewing experience, according to Samsung. That comes with better durability and “reduced crease visibility.” It uses a titanium-alloy film under the OLED panel. That makes it less flexible than plastic with a significantly thinner profile. Samsung claims it measures less than 30% the thickness of a human hair.
