Samsung One UI 9 stable is finally here

Samsung has released the stable version of One UI 9, based on Android 17, which currently ships with its new foldable devices. While the update is not yet available for older models, it signals the start of a wider rollout for the Galaxy S26 series and other devices.
Why it matters
Software updates are critical for the security and functionality of millions of mobile devices, making this a significant development for the Android ecosystem.
Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event was understandably dominated by the new Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. They're among the company's most impressive foldables yet, and naturally stole much of the spotlight. For us in Kenya, however, the excitement is a little more measured especially after Samsung skipped the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 altogether. However, Samsung Mobile Kenya is showing hints that it will officially bring the new foldables to the local market.
