Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Buds On, a new clip-on earphone model designed for comfort without blocking the ear canal. The device features advanced sound technology and AI-integrated features when paired with Samsung smartphones.
Why it matters
This product represents a shift in wearable audio design, prioritizing long-term comfort and environmental awareness over traditional noise-cancellation features.
Samsung has officially unveiled its first clip-on headphones with a behind-the-ear mount – the Galaxy Buds On. The model will go on sale in South Korea on October 27 for 299,000 Korean won (~$220), with an international release to follow later. The main feature of the new products is their clip-on design, which lets you secure the headphones to your ear. Because this form factor doesn't block your ears, you can wear them longer without feeling strained. At the same time, this forces manufacturers to make compromises, particularly by sacrificing features such as active noise cancellation. To ensure a comfortable fit for Galaxy Buds On, Samsung analyzed data on different ear shapes and conducted simulations to optimize the speaker and battery placement.
