Samsung Googlebook appears on Geekbench with a Snapdragon X Elite chipset

Samsung is reportedly developing a new 'Googlebook' laptop, model XE940XSA, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chipset. The device is expected to run Android 17 with Samsung's One UI customizations, marking an expansion of Google's Android-based laptop platform.
Why it matters
This signals a significant shift in the laptop market as major manufacturers move toward Android-based hardware to compete with traditional Windows and ChromeOS ecosystems.
Not satisfied with having one laptop platform, Google introduced Googlebooks – Android-powered laptops. The official page for the platform lists laptops from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo. Now it appears that Samsung will be joining the party soon with a Googlebook of its own.
We don’t know what it will be called as Geekbench 7.1.0 only lists its model number – Samsung XE940XSA. Samsung has a “Galaxy Chromebook” for Google’s other laptop platform, so... Galaxy Googlebook? That sounds weird.

Anyway, the chipset is listed as “Hamoa”, which is Qualcomm’s code name for the Snapdragon X Elite . It’s a little disappointing that Samsung didn’t use an X2 series chip , but it’s not alone in this – the Dell and HP Googlebooks also feature the X Elite. Meanwhile, the Acer, Asus and Lenovo laptops use an Intel Core Ultra 5.
