Why it matters
Celebrity personal milestones often drive significant social media engagement and human-interest traffic for entertainment news outlets.
The 59-year-old “Frida” actor celebrated that milestone on Instagram Sunday (Aug 16).
“We are blessed to welcome the fourth living generation of Francois’. Although I will call him Panchito,” she captioned a video of herself holding her newborn grandson and speaking Spanish.
Hayek’s 38-year-old stepson Francois Pinault Jr and his wife Lara Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck are the baby’s parents, according to People. Hayek is the stepmum to her husband Francois-Henri Pinault’s three children. They also have an 18-year-old daughter.
Von Donnersmarck also posted photos of the latest addition to the family and the baby’s dad online.
“My husband (the world’s coolest francois) and our son (the world’s cutest françois) … our first month as parents,” she captioned photos added to Instagram last week.
Hayek’s new grandson has already taken to his nickname, the movie star claims.
“He seems to love it, and I cannot love him more,” she wrote.
