Salem Railway Division expects ₹46.20 lakh in revenue through Rail Coach Restaurant
The Salem Railway Division has inaugurated a new restaurant housed in a repurposed railway coach at Ayothiyapattinam station. The project is expected to generate significant non-fare revenue and improve passenger amenities.

The Rail Coach Restaurant, inaugurated in the district on behalf of the Salem Railway Division on Monday, is expected to generate ₹46.20 lakh in revenue.
Divisional Railway Manager Panna Lal inaugurated the restaurant at Ayothiyapattinam Railway Station, on the outskirts of Salem city in the Salem-Virudhachalam section.
A press release said that the Rail Coach Restaurant, spread over an area of 1,000 square metres, has been awarded under the non-fare revenue policy to Kerala Food Express Restaurant for a period of five years.
