A 72-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his brother in a land dispute near Mettur on Sunday. According to police, Mariappan (72), a resident of Cauvery Cross and a security guard, and his younger brother, Rajendran (66), a casual labourer, nursed a grudge against each other over a land dispute. Around 6 p.m. on Sunday, a quarrel broke out between them, during which Mariappan allegedly attacked Rajendran with an iron rod and a sickle, killing him on the spot.
