Due to the monsoon and dengue cases reported across the State, the Salem Corporation intensified its anti-dengue measures and are checking various locations in the 60 wards, and are destroying the mosquito breeding sources. As many as 780 domestic breeding checkers (DBC), under the supervision of sanitary officers, are undertaking door-to-door visits to remove stagnant water.
They are carrying out activities, including mixing abate and creating awareness among the public about preventing mosquito larvae. Malaria workers and health workers are visiting houses to remove tires and coconut shells. Four vehicle-mounted fogging machines and 22 pulse fogging machines are used for spraying mosquito repellent.
