Saibaba Colony junction flyover to be opened next week
A new 1.2 km flyover at the Saibaba Colony junction in Coimbatore is scheduled to open for public use next week. The project, which cost ₹71 crore, is nearing completion with final works on the main carriageway underway.

“The tentative plan is to open it up for public use next week,” said District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar. The project was approved in 2022, and the Department of Highways began works in 2024. The four-lane, 1.2 km flyover is being built at ₹71 crore.
The main carriageway works are nearing completion, and service road works will only start after traffic is permitted on the flyover. Shifting of utility lines for the service road works will also be taken up after that, said sources who are in know of the project details.
