Sahyadri Krishi Santhe in Shivamogga receives good response

Sahyadri Krishna Santhe, a two-day event organised by the Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, was inaugurated here on Saturday. The event serves as a one-stop platform to market saplings and seeds of various crops, besides agricultural implements and value-added products.

M.V. Dhananjaya, Vice-Chancellor of the university, inaugurated the event. On the first day, hundreds of farmers and residents of Shivamogga visited the stalls set up on the campus of the Agriculture College at Navule in the city.

Around 150 stalls have been set up, including about 25 nurseries selling saplings of various crops. A few representatives of Farmers’ Producer Organisations have set up stalls to sell vegetable seeds collected from native growers. Visitors also had access to demonstration plots cultivated by the university on the campus.
