MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – Among the many lessons Mandaue City’s schoolchildren must now prepare to learn is how to respond if a security threat enters their classrooms.
The Department of Education (DepEd) Mandaue City Division and the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) met with public and private schools and government agencies to prepare for the proposed simultaneous safety drill in schools across the city.
The meeting brought together representatives from public and private schools, the Parents-Teachers Association, City Mayor’s Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, Coast Guard, City Social Welfare and Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Office, among others.
DepEd has proposed a nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents.
