SA Rugby to review ticket pricing

SA Rugby was forced to slash ticket prices for the Boks’ first Test of 2026 against England at Ellis Park after slow sales, with the cheapest tickets reduced from R950 to R450. It resulted in a crowd of 52,790 at the 62,000-capacity stadium.
A crowd of 45,053 then attended the clash between the Boks and Scotland at the 50,000-capacity Loftus Versfeld last Saturday. Unsold tickets ranged from R1,050 to R2,500.
On Monday, Saru president Mark Alexander said they had noted concerns about ticket pricing and recognised that some categories needed careful review and revision.
