Sa'ar meets with Colombian VP Restrepo as Israel, Colombia strengthen ties
Colombia and Israel are moving to restore diplomatic and trade ties under the new Colombian administration. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar met with Colombian officials to discuss expanding cooperation and the relocation of the Colombian embassy to Jerusalem.

Colombia and Israel are restoring ties ahead of Friday's inauguration ceremony of new Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella, with senior Colombian officials expressing strong support for Israel and intent to expand cooperation. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar arrived in Colombia for the inaugural ceremony and met with Colombian Vice President José Manuel Restrepo, Foreign Minister Omar Bula Escobar, and other senior ministers from the newly appointed government. The officials in attendance included the new foreign minister, as well as ministers of defense, finance, justice, trade and industry, and environment.
