Ryan Coogler took the stage during Marvel Studios’ massive Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 , where he revealed that he will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to direct a third Black Panther film, exclusively in theaters on December 15, 2028 . Joined by Letitia Wright , A.K.A. Shuri , and Winston Duke , A.K.A. M'Baku , Coogler announced that David Jonsson ( The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus ) will be the new Black Panther in the upcoming film.
