President William Ruto has commissioned a Sh2.7 billion power transmission line and sub-station in Kajiado South, in a move the government says will improve electricity supply and support economic activity in the region.
Ruto commissioned the Sultan Hamud-Loitoktok 132kV Transmission Line and Loitoktok Sub-Station at Kimana, Kajiado South Constituency on Thursday.
The President said the project would provide a more reliable electricity supply to Kajiado South and parts of Makueni County, while supporting economic transformation in the areas served by the infrastructure.
He said the government had also allocated more funds to connect more homes in Kajiado South to electricity.
