President William Ruto has criticised his opponents in Trans Nzoia, blaming what he termed opposition politics and rejection for delays in development projects.
Speaking during a rally in Endebess on Saturday, Ruto said his government remained committed to improving infrastructure and healthcare in the region, assuring residents that Trans Nzoia would not be left behind despite what he described as resistance to government initiatives.
The President acknowledged challenges facing the county but attributed delays in development projects, including a planned hospital, to opposition politics associated with the ‘Tawe’ movement.
“Even if you have some leadership problems of those opposing everything, I want to assure you that I will not allow Trans Nzoia to be left behind. I will not accept that,” Ruto said.
He said plans and funds were available for the hospital project but claimed opposition to government initiatives had slowed its implementation.
