President William Ruto assents to new bills at State House, Nairobi, July 6, 2026. PCS --> President William Ruto has appointed Lynette Njeru as the Chairperson of the Railway Development Levy Fund Board (RDLF) for a three-year term.

The appointment took effect on August 21 this year, according to a gazette notice issued by the President on Friday.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 (4C) (a) of the Miscellaneous Fees and Levies (Amendment) Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Lynette Njeru to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Railway Development Levy Fund Board,” the notice read in part.

Njeru will oversee the board responsible for matters relating to the Railway Development Levy Fund, which supports railway infrastructure development in the country.
