Ruto, CSs make fresh appointments to State boards

President William Ruto and various Cabinet Secretaries in Kenya have announced new appointments and reappointments to several state boards and institutions. These changes affect sectors including wildlife conservation, agriculture, transport, and water management.

President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have made a series of appointments and reappointments to State boards and institutions.
The appointments were published in gazette notices dated August 7, 2026.
They cover institutions in wildlife conservation, agriculture, transport, roads, water, trade and higher education.
Among the changes, Ruto named Benson Gichohi Ngure as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO).
Gichohi is set to serve a three-year term.
He also reappointed Lucy W. Waruingi as the Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Wildlife Conservation Trust Fund.
