RuneScape Reignited launches 2 December

Jagex has announced 'RuneScape Reignited,' a new permanent character mode launching on December 2, featuring a fresh economy and no paid progression. The announcement coincides with the reveal of a fourth RuneScape MMO built in Unreal Engine.

Announced at the same RuneFest 2026 event where Jagex revealed its fourth RuneScape MMO built in Unreal Engine , RuneScape Reignited is a new permanent character type launching on 2 December.
Jagex outlined the details in a blog post entitled "RuneScape As It Was Always Meant To Be", explaining how Reignited characters come with a brand-new economy and hiscores with no paid progression available.
"It plays out in the same worlds that all existing characters are already playing in, and all Reignited characters will have free access to members' content for the first 10 days following its launch," Jagex explained.
