Brian McDermott says he wants to stay on as England's head coach for the 2030 Rugby League World Cup.
The former Leeds Rhinos head coach, 56, was appointed on a short-term agreement in April to guide England through this autumn's World Cup, which is taking place in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
McDermott said when he started in the job that he would be interested in staying on beyond the tournament.
And although he has made clear that he wants to focus on the immediate task of seeking success this October and November, he does want to commit to his country for the long term if all goes well.
